After 45 shows in the US, the Dave Rawlings Machine preps for its first visit to Australia, a 6-show run down the East Coast following the first Gillian Welch tour down under since 2004.
For those cities in the US that we weren’t able to visit since Nashville Obsolete‘s release in September, we have great news! DRM has added a handful of shows in April, including first visits to Florida & Mississippi, as well as stops at old favorites in Bloomington, St. Louis, Louisville, Kansas City and more. This April run of shows also includes a co-headline in Charleston, SC, with our good friends the Punch Brothers and DRM’s Saturday appearance at Merlefest!
All April shows go on sale this Friday, 1/22 (except where noted) with a special fan club presale this Thursday, 1/21. A small number of great seats will be set aside for the presale, and you can access them with the passcode: “CANDY“. See below for the full April run of dates!

My husband and I are big fans…so excited to be seeing you in Brisbane on Thurs Feb 11th, we have a gig that night too, so we’re hoping you guys are starting late 🙂 Enjoy our fabulous country and we’ll enjoy your incredible talent!
One of the best shows I’ve ever seen last night at the Trifford in Brisbane. Everyone on stage was fantastic with a super appreciative crowd.
Great stuff for Australia. Shows we’ve got some Nashville fans.
Just home from ‘I Dream a Highway’ at Festival Hall, Melbourne. What a night. Highlight after highlight. Thrilling version of Cortez the Killer, followed by an unforgettable The Weight – where four took verse leads including the double bass man. Finally Dave and Gill reappeared in spangled and matching suits aka. The Flying Burrito Brothers. Last song the epic ‘I Dream a Highway’. Loved every minute. Supports were awesome. A Night to Remember.
Sheldon Hall in St Louis with the Machine. Great and memorable performance. I was hoping for more from Gillian, some earlier things; Appalachia type hymns/songs. I love the strong true sound of Dave and Gillian’s voices……Dave’s legendary guitar exceeded expectations……..The talent on the stage was amazing. Superlatives are inadequate to describe each musician’s contributions. What a Harmonious Entity! Thanks so much. We will seek you out when you are close by again.
Nashville Obsolete is best album I’ve heard in years. I’m absolutely hooked on The Trip. How about a show in Toronto? Please?
